How this project is run.
Atlas of Opportunity is a student-led educational project founded and primarily maintained by Nehan Hossain, a high school student in Bothell, Washington. It provides free tools that help high school students discover and organize academic, research, internship, scholarship, competition, and enrichment opportunities. This page explains how editorial decisions are made, how conflicts of interest are handled, and how corrections work.
Editorial decisions
Final editorial decisions are currently made by the founder, Nehan Hossain, using the published verification, correction, and conflict-of-interest standards. If a formal editorial group is added later, it will be listed on the team page with member consent.
Editorial principles
- No paid rankings. Programs cannot buy placement, position, or removal.
- No payment accepted for preferred placement or listing priority.
- Any personal affiliation with a listed program is disclosed in the listing notes.
- User reports are reviewed and handled through the corrections process.
- Material corrections are documented in the public changelog.
- The official program source always remains the final authority on program details.
Corrections process
- Anyone can flag a listing through the “Report a problem” button on a program page.
- Reports are reviewed as capacity allows; the listing is updated, marked unverified, or archived based on what the source shows.
- Material corrections are recorded in the changelog.
Atlas is a small, student-led project — there is no fixed correction SLA and turnaround depends on availability.

Atlas runs on free or donated infrastructure and does not accept donations, sponsorships, or paid placements. See Support & funding for details.
