A free opportunity catalog your students can use today.
One page for principals, counseling departments, and district staff deciding whether to share Atlas of Opportunity with students.
What Atlas does
Atlas of Opportunity is a searchable catalog of research programs, internships, competitions, scholarships, and enrichment opportunities that are open to high school students. Students filter by grade, subject, cost, location, format, and deadline, then save and track what they apply to. Every listing links out to the host organization’s official page.
Who it’s for
Any high schooler — especially students without a family connection or a paid consultant pointing them toward programs. Counselors and teachers use it to hand students a starting list instead of a search engine.
It’s free, and it stays free
- No cost to students, schools, or districts. No premium tier.
- No accounts required to search, filter, save, or track.
- No advertising, and no paid placement — programs cannot buy a listing.
- Atlas does not charge students, accept donations, sell rankings, or guarantee admission to any program.
We do not sell student information
We never sell, rent, or share student information with listed programs or anyone else. Saved programs, notes, deadlines, and tracker entries are stored in the student’s own browser — they are never uploaded to us. We record anonymous page counts only, and build no profiles of individual students. Full details are in our privacy policy.
How listings are verified
A person opens each program’s official page and confirms it exists, accepts high schoolers, and that the cost and deadline we show match the source. Each listing displays its verification status and the date it was last checked. Automated link checks run daily and flag anything that breaks. Our full standard is on the methodology page, and current numbers are on the quality page.
How schools can share it
- Link to https://atlasofopportunity.org/finder from your counseling page.
- Print the QR flyer for a bulletin board, or the student handout for a classroom.
- Paste our ready-made email and newsletter copy.
- Embed the Finder or the “closing soon” widget directly on your site — see the embed instructions.
Reporting corrections and outcomes
- Counselors: use “Report this listing” on any program page for a dead link, wrong deadline, or a program that no longer takes high schoolers. We review within a week. Missing something? Suggest a program.
- Students: can report an outcome without an account — what they applied to and what happened. Any quote they include goes to a private moderation queue and is only published after a person approves it.
